They Need to Know

Revelations 2:1-5
1 “Write this letter to the angel of the church in Ephesus. This is the message from the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand, the one who walks among the seven gold lampstands: 2 “I know all the things you do. I have seen your hard work and your patient endurance. I know you don’t tolerate evil people. You have examined the claims of those who say they are apostles but are not. You have discovered they are liars. 3 You have patiently suffered for me without quitting. 4 “But I have this complaint against you. You don’t love me or each other as you did at first! 5 Look how far you have fallen! Turn back to me and do the works you did at first. If you don’t repent, I will come and remove your lampstand from its place among the churches.

1 John 3:1-3
1 See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him. 2 Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is. 3 And all who have this eager expectation will keep themselves pure, just as he is pure.

The Gospel Artist and SongWriter recorded a song a while back on his “Kirk Franklin & the Family Christmas” album entitled “They Need to Know”. The song’s message emphasized the importance of remembering that CHRIST IS CHRISTMAS!

The word in Revelation reminds us that sometimes even those of us who are heavily vested in ministry or are very active in our local churches can loose focus. We can get so caught up with commercialism if Christmas that we loose the very essence of the season.

The warning encourages us to return back to our first love. Return our focus on what’s truly important.

It is so important we share Gods message of love to all this year for Christ is our first love and the REASON FOR ALL SEASONS!

Someone needs to know this season that Christ is love; Christ is a ruler, He is a healer, deliverer and provider.

They Need to Know that CHRIST is Christmas!!!!!
